Job Description

In this role, you will:
  • Participate in the development and documentation of the processes and procedures for the SQA area
  • Basic knowledge of Chassis & Vehicle Dynamic components and systems and their related manufacturing/assembly processes
  • Support our manufacturing facilities when purchased components are not meeting requirements and ensure that only OK product will be supplied to the production lines
  • Lead the containment activities for the supplier related product non conformances
  • Issue and follow up CAPA for supplier related product non conformances
  • Lead the problem-solving activities at our manufacturing facilities for all the supplier related product non conformances in the assigned commodity/supply base
  • Manage cost recovery activities with suppliers in the assigned commodity/supply base
  • Lead the supplier performance improvement activities in the assigned commodity/supply base
  • Be the liaison between Supplier Quality Engineers (SQE’s) and the manufacturing facility providing objective feedback to continuously improve Volvo & Mack products
For Consideration, you’ll need:
  • BS in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in an OEM Automotive or high-volume manufacturing business as Quality Engineer (with experience handling supplier issues preferred) or as SQA for Chassis & Vehicle Dynamics related components
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings and an in-depth knowledge of quality standards and specifications in area of placement
  • Excellent analytical abilities, technical writing ability and comprehensive understanding and experience with quality toolbox (8D root cause analysis, tolerancing, AIAG Core Tools, etc.)
  • Certification preferred – American Society for Quality, Six Sigma Black Belt, Red X, etc.
  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve, as well manage multiple tasks and projects and concisely explain complex issues supported with data
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively build strong relationships at all levels of the organization (from the shop floor to the executive suite)
