The Electrical Engineering and Vehicle Connectivity (EEVC) department delivers all electrical features on Volvo and Mack trucks to the North American market. We work with diesel vehicles, electromobility products, automation, and connectivity.

The System Test team focuses on securing that the quality of our development meets our design standards and delivers to the high expectations of our customers. We want to make a difference to our customers by providing high quality and reliable products. All over the world. Every day.

We are now looking for a Verification Engineer in the On-vehicle test area to join our team.

About the job
This position works hands on with our trucks and provides an opportunity for product knowledge and skill development. Truck driving will be a requirement to perform testing so a CDL or ability to qualify for a CDL is a requirement. We will provide CDL training for the selected applicant.
As On-vehicle verification engineer you will perform testing and verification of requirements, features, and functions on trucks. You may also perform compliance testing for applicable systems. You will define and plan test scopes and perform tests as per defined milestones.
You must have a basic understanding of electrical system architecture, wiring, hardware, and software to perform testing and support development of new products. You will be involved in verification activities in complex and strategic projects but also in regular quality improvement changes.
As vehicle tester you will work closely with our rig verification team and other vehicle testers to continuously improve and develop new test methods. You will perform testing individually will with limited support and you are expected to work with independence, professionalism, precision, and timeliness.
Product knowledge, industry knowledge, along with a willingness to learn new technologies are highly valued in this role

Expected experience
As a person, you have a broad technical interest combined with very good people skills and a strong belief in agile methods. You enjoy working in teams but can work independently to reach our objectives. You are creative with ability to drive new initiatives, have good communication skills and can plan your work.

You have bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Physics, Electrical or equivalent engineering. You have minimum of 0-3 years of experience from HW/SW development and testing in truck or car industry.

Hands on experience with electronic test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and data loggers is also needed.
