Job Description

The Electrical Engineering and Vehicle Connectivity (EEVC) department delivers all electrical features on Volvo and Mack trucks to the North American market. We work with diesel vehicles, electromobility products, automation and connectivity.

The System Test team focuses on securing that the quality of our development meets our design standards and delivers to the high expectations of our customers. We want to make a difference to our customers by providing high quality and reliable products. All over the world. Every day.

You will work with a diverse and passionate team who believe a culture of learning, mentoring, and professional growth will maximize our individual potential and ultimately deliver the best products to our customers.

We are now looking for a Verification Engineer to join our team supporting the Framework area of testing.

About the job
As a framework engineer you will be responsible for all framework activities in North America. You will be conducting tests yourself but also work with other teams globally to ensure all areas are covered.

There are five areas of framework: Application Network (ANW), Communication (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), Diagnostics, Power Management, and Remote Software Download. This is a great opportunity to work on the electrical system of the truck, and develop a valuable skill set in this rapidly changing industry.

You will develop test plans to cover applicable nodes and locations based on vehicle design documents. This will include CAN, LIN, Ethernet, wiring, electrical balance and power management. As part of your mission you will analyze impact of design changes and need for further testing and capture test data for compliance with relevant technical requirements.

In this role you will create an efficient and trustful day-to-day operation. It is important that you have an innovative and creative mind-set to inspire and challenge your organization. You also have a true can-do attitude, a strong quality focus and a personal drive to reach the objectives and targets set for your team & products, understanding how these contribute to our vision, strategy & roadmap.

Expected experience
As a person, you have a broad technical know-how combined with very good people skills and a strong belief in agile methods. You have a strong ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams.

You have bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechatronics, Physics, Electronics or equivalent engineering. You have 0-3 years of experience from HW/SW development and testing in truck or car industry.

Experience from electronics, sensors, actuators, communication protocols, power networks and vehicle charging systems is required. Preferably you have experience from Automated Application Network tests and from writing test scripts in C# or similar. You are comfortable reading a wiring schematic and build test harnesses as needed.

Hands on experience with electronic test instrumentation including oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and data loggers is also needed.

About us
We can offer you an exciting and global working environment which will give you valuable experience that will contribute to your future development within the Volvo Group. You will get the opportunity to interact with highly committed colleagues from different cultures and to influence the development of our future products. Teamwork, energy, passion, and respect for the individual are key values for us. We hope you will learn as much from us as we will from you.
