Function/Department: Marketing

Position Title: Marketing Specialist

Reports To: GM Sales Operations & Re-Marketing

Salary: Salaried Exempt

Job Summary and Purpose: This position is responsible for the VCES marketing strategy and tactics. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing a customer focused, efficient and effective strategy that helps to generate demonstrated returns. Ultimately you will help us build and maintain a strong and consistent brand through a wide range of marketing channels.

Main Tasks and Key Accountabilities (but not limited to):
  • Exhibit safe and environmentally sound conduct at all times to demonstrate support of VCES California’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and Initiatives.
  • Develop, experiment and implement Marketing strategies and tactics for existing and prospective customers using a range of channels, including but not limited to digital marketing, EDM, pay per click campaigns, advertising, publicity and event management.
  • Responsible for developing marketing campaigns and tactics that drive brand awareness and lead generation. Coordinate data recovery to further develop proactive marketing and awareness
  • Drive a results orientated approach to Marketing with strong focus on targeted communication and robust activity measurement.
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s marketing budget through effective cost controls and activity tracking.
  • Ensure that all business stakeholders are engaged with key activity and Marketing is seen as an enabler to business growth.
  • Develop excellent working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Volvo Construction Equipment, Sennebogen, and Doosan. Help further develop marketing strategies for alternative brands if and when they are added to the business.
  • Actively participate in sales process and improvement activities.
  • Participate in appropriate training and development and attend industry association events.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing together with the potential and attitude to learn
  • Proven experience in identifying target audiences and creatively devising and leading across channel marketing campaigns that engage, educate and motivate.
  • Solid knowledge of website analytic tools (e.g. Google Analytics)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google AdWords campaigns.
  • A sense of aesthetics and a love for great copy and witty communication.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in digital/online marketing and measurement
  • Safety conscious and customer centric with effective relationship building through all levels.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Numerically literate, comfortable working with numbers, making sense of metrics and processing figures.
  • Ability to effectively adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
  • Improvement mind set, self-motivated, independent and a team player with strong initiative.
  • Computer and systems literate with proficiency in Excel, Word, Publisher. Graphic computer experience desired.

Physical Requirements (e.g. language, mobility):
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at a time.
  • Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials, up to 15lbs.
  • Requires stooping, bending, and reaching.
  • Will work in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and use a small stepladder.
  • Some travel required.
