Job Description

This professional level position is responsible for remarketing Volvo Financial Services ( VFS) repossessed inventory for the US truck/trailer, construction and coach portfolios. The individual will be responsible for the management of operational duties and functions associated with asset disposal; inclusive of the development of wholesale and retail sales channels, timely and efficient liquidation and contribute to the planning and strategy to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE BASED ON BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
  • Planning & strategy – provide recommendations based on department performance, industry & market activity and vendor performance in order to mitigate losses and influence asset values
  • Develop a network with retail customers, dealers and auctions to effectively market and dispose of company owned assets/used inventory
  • Effectively market and arrange for the sale of company owned assets to dealers (domestic or export), auctions, and/or customers
  • Actively work to develop remarketing processes to improve equipment product resale values, such as negotiating contracts with vendors to recondition equipment as well as increase the buyer base to influence a competitive bidding environment to enhance values
  • Manage the processing and follow up to divest assets (pre & post sale phases)
  • Vendor management – manage and oversee to ensure service levels are met to effectively sell company assets and achieve company goals and objectives
  • Manage and propose finance support programs & offers to influence sales activity and support values
  • Create reports to analyze data, results and trends in order to evaluate effectiveness and make recommendations to management. Practice data analysis and make recommendations and decisions based on business acumen
  • Valuation of truck/trailer/construction equipment, bus and comment on the technical aspects of the job in terms of mechanical aptitude and the ability to convey and negotiate repair issues effectively to vendors, dealers and customers
  • Process Improvement & Innovation – evaluate processes and results and make recommendations to management to continuously drive efficiency, productivity and effectiveness of operations
  • Cross functional – professionally represent Remarketing working with internal partners such as VFS Credit & Sales teams and Volvo/Mack/VCE to achieve company goals and objectives
  • Assist other departments and affiliates evaluating and validating used equipment inventory reporting
  • Product valuation - evaluate trades on new transactions at the request of VFS Sales, Credit, Legal, etc.
  • Compliance & Risk Management practiced to satisfy legal (state & federal) and VFS policy & procedures in order to protect the company
  • Practice professional customer contact (internal & external) in order to establish and maintain effective communication and business relationships to support recovery values and improve efficiencies
  • Make recommendations to policy and procedures as changes are identified
  • Prepare reports, templates, spreadsheets, presentations and other material to communicate initiatives – support reporting needs as requested, inclusive of interim and month end
  • Project Management – represent Remarketing as a leader or contributor of project management through various phases (development/scoping/documenting/ implementation)
EDUCATION
  • BA/BS in Business/Finance or related field
  • Mechanical certification or equivalent work experience in the transportation & construction equipment service industry, preferred
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in credit underwriting, preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in remarketing, repossession, business or finance related operations, credit underwriting, collections, commercial finance sales & marketing (commercial truck/trailer, heavy equipment, bus or automotive),preferred
  • Working knowledge of domestic and foreign heavy equipment secondary sales channels
  • Knowledge and understanding of vehicle service repair and reconditioning procedures and costs; certified Class 8 Truck, Construction Equipment and Coach/Bus experience, preferred
  • Equipment Valuation ,preferred
